Exploring Light and Shadow
A Portrait Series
2018

I took inspiration from the artistic brilliance of the Baroque era to create black and white film portraits. Influenced by artists like Caravaggio and Rembrandt, I aimed to capture depth and form using chiaroscuro – the interplay of light and shadow. With black and white photography, I shifted focus from color to composition and form, resulting in a more expressive art style. This technique enhances the subject's beauty and deepens our appreciation of the human form.
These timeless artists guided my evolving style, blending their spirit with my vision to capture photos with careful poses and skillful lighting. My images now convey atmosphere and emotion. These sessions inspired me to experiment with fabric, drapery, and movement, allowing me to blend traditional techniques with modern interpretations, bridging the gap between fashion and photography.
