Beauty Astria Kussoy (b. 1997) is a fine art photographer, writer, and creative director based in Denver, Colorado. Born in California to Indonesian immigrants and raised between cultures, she came to image-making the way most artists come to their truest work: by elimination, by instinct, and by returning again and again to the thing that would not leave her alone.
Her photographs are cinematic and precise, grounded in the editorial tradition and shaped by an abiding belief that the most powerful images are human-centered. They do not announce themselves. They invite. Her written work carries the same quality: spare, observational, and alive to the textures of ordinary life rendered extraordinary by paying attention.
A graduate of the Denver School of the Arts and Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design, where she earned her BFA in Fine Arts, Beauty has built a practice that moves fluidly between commissioned portraiture, brand campaigns, and fine art. Her creative direction draws equally from both disciplines.
